As you probably know by now, my name is Megan. But, what are my intentions with this blog?
As I mentioned above, my favorite quote has something to do with trying to remember the good old days and figuring out when you are in fact in that state during the different stages of your life. I had one of those moments after I graduated from high school a little over a year ago. I was leaving my best friends that I had known all my life and was now going to a school where I knew absolutely nobody. And I was scared I wouldn’t ever feel as happy as I did in high school. Well, thankfully I can say I am having the time of my life in college. These days that I am currently living in may be the good old days or they may not. But, just in case they may be–I want to encapsulate at least some of these moments right here on this blog.
So yes, is this blog a space for me to remember all of the amazing adventures, travels and outings I have made within the past few years? Yes, but there is also another aspect. Writing is forever my love, and I want to continue to develop my passion for writing by incorporating different concepts and applying that to my life.
You may notice how the home page is made up of entirely black and white photos and this page is full of vibrant color, moving images and lots and lost of fun. It may have been shocking to your eyes, but I did it for a reason. On the outside looking in, my life my appear slightly perfect, and to me a black and white photo covers up the imperfections, smooths everything out and gives it a filter of flawlessness. But, in reality–my life is far from perfect. My life is full of ups and downs, successes and failures and most importantly–my life is human. Once people get to know me and my life, the black and white filter starts to fade away and they see the real me: the Megan who is obsessed with lavender and light pink, the one who is way too emotional about puppies and the one is caring, kind and loyal. Not only am I sharing my positives with you, but my negatives as well–because I want you to become aware that filters should not be the only perception of a person’s life.
If you are a student or an acquaintance of mine, you will find delight in each of these posts as you get to know me one paragraph at a time. But, let’s say you are a random stranger perusing through the internet. Well first off, welcome! And second, I want you to learn something about yourself by reading through my mistakes, my thoughts, my opinions and my passions. Because we can all learn from everyone else and gain some wisdom along the way. Or, you can just feel free to look at the fun photos–your choice.
Enjoy!
